Ex- NZ jetski champion in court facing drug charges
A former national NZ jetski champion and the brother of former Commonwealth Games athlete Simon Poelman has appeared in court facing drugs charges.
Andrew Klass Poelman, 55, appeared in the Wellington District Court today charged with five counts of possessing and supplying methamphetamine.
He was remanded in custody until next month.
In 2004, Poelman was jailed for 10 years for drug dealing to the tune of more than $600,000.
He admitted three charges of supplying a class B drug, having a class B drug for supply and having a Class A drug, methamphetamine, for supply.
His brother Simon was jailed for 5-1/2 years in 1998 for importing nearly 2000 Ecstasy tablets inside a stuffed rabbit.
