Sea-Doo – whats in store for 2017?
Given the success of the Spark it seems thoroughly logical to see a new twist on the concept with the release of the TRIXX aimed at those wanting a little more freestylin’ fun. An adjustable handlebar riser, step wedges at the rear of the footwells that make tailstands a breeze and an extended range VTS that offers double the range of the current VTS to easily pop the bow into the air or provide a boost for 180’s and other freestyle tricks.
The other big change for 2017 is the use of the new lightweight PolyTec hull technology and Rotax 900 HO ACE engine from the Spark in the recreational GTI family of watercraft including the GTS, GTI and GTI SE. Only the GTI Limited 155 retains the conventional hull and the 1503 4-TEC engine.
A newly developed 1500 HO ACE engine has been unveiled and debuts in the GTX Limited 230, GTR-X 230, GTR 230 and Wake Pro 230 giving 15% more horsepower than the previous supercharged 1503 4-TEC engine with the bonus of a maintenance free supercharger. The pick of the bunch here is the GTR-X 230 which gets the top deck of the RXP-X (including ErgoLock seat, adjustable ergonomic steering and the angle footwell wedges) mated to the GTI hull which with the new 1500 HO ACE should be a great combination of innovation and technology at a lower price point.
Unchanged for 2017 are the RXT 260, RXT-X 300 and the RXP-X 300 which of course were introduced only last season and feature the 300hp 1630 ACE engine.
