Yamaha Introduces the 2012 FX Series
Yamaha Motor Australia is excited to introduce the 2012 FX range, featuring great new colours, exciting upgrades and as always, proven performance and reliability.
Yamaha’s FX series has always delivered luxury features and performance. With a strong focus on innovation, Yamaha’s FX range has become a favourite with riders who expect exciting performance with no compromise to rider comfort.
In 2012, the FX line has been refined even further with a completely redesigned hull and deck, improving the ride quality as well as the functionality and versatility of the craft as a whole. As well as improved ride and functionality, changes in the hull design have also improved performance and fuel economy.
The FX hull has been increased in length by 19cm. This increased water line improves ride quality and pick up in rough water and also improves stability. The redesigned FX hull, with a softer outside edge design gives the rider the increased ability to lean into tight turns. This banking angle give the rider a more secure feel when cornering.
The extended hull length has also given designers the ability to improve the crafts overall practicality. The rear swim platform, always a popular feature on Yamaha WaveRunners, is now even larger making it the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a break or a swim after riding. Storage on the FX series has also been increase by 40% to 125 litres and includes under-seat water tight storage as well as an easy access stern storage compartment designed to carry water sports items such as snorkels and ski ropes.
Manoeuvrability has also been refined with the addition of a neutral thrust position. This feature is particularly useful for water sports enthusiasts who spend time towing water skiers or wake boarders.
Other new features include the industry’s first three step cruiser seat featuring “stadium seating” – raised seating positions for passengers allowing them to see forward past the driver. This seat length has also been increased by 7cm for great passenger comfort. The re-boarding step has been improved and now reaches 20cm lower into the water to improve the ease of on water reboarding.
Led by the flagship FX Cruiser SHO, the new FX line has been re-imagined from the hull up to deliver the utmost comfort, convenience, storage capacity, towing ability, and unadulterated fun. The FX range includes 1.8 litre supercharged models, FX Cruiser SHO and FX SHO as well as the 1.8 litre non supercharged models, the FX Cruiser HO, and FX HO.
The new and improved FX series will be available from Yamaha’s network of authorised dealerships from March.
